To Have the
Photographer's Eye - What Does it Mean?
Is
it the camera that makes the
photographer? Or is it the
"photographer's eye" that makes the
photographer? No doubt, a good camera
enhances photographic images, but the
"photographer's eye" is where
the
meaningful and memorable images come
from.
What is here today can be gone tomorrow.
Since everything is changing from moment
to moment, photographers need to capture
their images as events unfold. With this
in mind, photographers know they need to
have their cameras close by and ready to
shoot at any given moment. Of course, there
is more to "capturing the moment" than
then just having your camera close by.
However, the best images are taken by
photographers who have the fine-tuned "photographer's eye".
When a
person has the
"photographer's eye", he or
she has the
talent or ability to take professional
looking images. Each photographer
has their own style - some photographers are better at
capturing special events with a
journalistic style, while others are
better at taking still scenes and posing
people in studio settings.
The
"photographer's eye" and
having the ability to take professional,
marketable images comes from lots of practice and
and a thorough understanding of the
medium. If
a photographer loves their work, they
generally excel at capturing great
images.
In order to have great images, you need
to have: sharp images, good exposures,
good framing, and purposeful imagery
void of distracting backgrounds.
